charity committee for CAMEOin Vancouver Washington

CAMEO (Cathy Anna Mayer Encouraging Others) was formed in honor and memory of Cathy Mayer, who passed away due to complications of Breast Cancer in November of 2004. Cathy's surviving friends and family created CAMEO in reflection of the love she held for her four young children, her family, friends and surrounding community. Read how you can help.››

The 2008 Event

CAMEO'S 2008 Girls Night Out event, Blue Rendezvous, The Sky's the Limit was another remarkable evening. Around 300 women gathered at Pearson Air Museum on a beautiful August evening to enjoy the celebration.

The event featured an amazing array of foods by Delicious Dishes, a chocolate fountain, blue cocktails, shiny baubles, live music by the Ramblin Jaks, a wonderful group of vendors to pamper and primp and the always requisite shopping at the silent auction and a new addition of the CAMEO Marketplace. The men of CAMEO pampered and served the guests appetizers on silver trays and shiny blue cocktails a plenty.

This wonderful gathering of women raised about $34,000, all of which was donated to the YWCA's SafeChoice Women's Shelter. Thank you to all who attended, donated to and supported this event in the many ways necessary to make it happen!

The 2007 Event

Thanks to all for the support and interest generated in our third annual CAMEO "Girls Night Out" event, which out-grew the "backyard affair". Thanks to a kind and generous donation, the event was held in Ridgefield, Washington at the beautiful Bethany Vineyards. A wonderful turnout of 450 women raised over $34,000 for the Alexa Dyer Foundation. This Foundation assists families in paying home expenses when their children are suffering from a terminal illness.

The guests were treated to a delicious assortment of appetizers, a CAMEO signature cocktail featuring Bethany Vineyards wine, the eagerly anticipated chocolate fountain, a silent auction filled with over 120 choices, pampering and shopping from 12 different vendors, and for the 1st time danced the evening away with live music from the Ramblin' Jaks.

2006 “Girls Night Out” Rakes in “Juicy” Total

 CAMEO 2006

CAMEO, held its 2nd annual "Girls Night Out" on Thursday, August 17. And more than doubled its donations from a year ago. A Vancouver women’s group formed for the purpose of supporting Clark County charitable causes raised over $27,000. Guests dressed mostly in white to support this year’s "White Wishes" theme browsed the silent auction, and enjoyed massages, henna tattooing, clothes and jewelry shopping provided by onsite venders. You could even have a psychic reading or have a portrait made, but the hit of the evening was a raffle item donated by Aho Construction. Tickets were flying as women vied to win a "Juicy Couture" handbag with a blue Tiffany box and other items peeking out of it. This package alone took in over $3,000 in donations. This year's event benefited www.northwestchildrensoutreach.org.

2005 - The First “Girls Night Out” Event

CAMEO 2005

A new Vancouver women’s group formed for the purpose of supporting Clark County charitable causes raised over $11,000 at their first annual event on Thursday, September 22nd.

There was laughter amid the oooohs and ahhhhs as guests, dressed in pink, poured out of white shuttle vans chauffeured by men in pink shirts. They were handed "Think Pink" drinks and spent the evening getting henna tattoos, foot massages, wine tastings and dipping everything in sight into the chocolate fountain. The edible pink cotton candy decorations and gift bags had all disappeared by evening's end.

This year's event benefited Stepping Stones of Hope Bereavement Services of Hospice SW of Southwest Washington Medical Center.
